Structural Engineer

Maffeis Engineering is a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy specializing in the structural design and engineering of long-span and complex steel structures. Over the past few years, the company has experienced significant international growth and now operates in more than 12 countries. Maffeis has also established a strong presence in the Middle East through its involvement in several landmark airport and stadium projects.
As part of this continued expansion, our Dubai office is seeking a Project Engineer to contribute to the delivery of high-profile projects across Dubai and the wider Middle East. ROLE DESCRIPTION

The role is Project Engineer with a focus on complex steel structures and relevant cladding design. The role will include the following responsibilities.

• Manage technical communication with the Client and other stakeholders to align on the expected deliverables and project timeframe.
• As proficient technician in structures/connections design and numerical analysis, develop advanced engineering analysis, design, and detailing; coordinate small teams of Maffeis’ engineers and provide guidance on Client’s requirements. Respond to the Client in case of request of clarification on engineering calculations
• Engage and interface with other projects stakeholders (i.e., Employer, General Contractor, sub-contractors, and other consultants) together with the Client.
• Verify the correctness of the project workflow and documents record.
• Participate to all the project workshops, meetings, and calls. Prepare and manage minutes.
• Identify potential conditions for claims/variations and report to the Regional Director.
• Coordinate activities with Maffeis international teams involved in the supporting engineering analysis worldwide.
• Participate in the company growth by creating opportunities for new business.
• Support the commercial team during technical presentation for new projects.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

• Structural or civil engineering master’s degree.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• 5 years of experience in steelwork structural engineering design and detailing, fabrication, and installation aspects. Understand technical aspects and challenges of long span steel structures.
• Familiar with structural engineering FEM software, BIM, 3D software and Microsoft Office.
• Strong critical thinking skills, ability to assimilate and understand new concepts in short-time frames. Independent and pragmatic mindset.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work across functions and levels of seniority.
• Mature project management capabilities and highly organized with diligence. Comfortable working under deadlines and producing key deliverables.
