The Rottweil Test Tower is an elevator test tower in Rottweil, Germany. It is owned by ThyssenKrupp and it’s the tallest elevator test tower in the world. As a structure of the technological age, the tower represents ThyssenKrupp’s state-of-the-art engineering. In collaboration with the membrane contractor Taiyo, Maffeis designed the facade structure made by a heavy steel structure, cables and PTFE fiberglass, used for the first time in this form giving the tower its distinctive appearance.

Maffeis Engineering also designed the movable platform for the façade installation: a special movable steel structure used for the installation of the steel upstand and to mount the membrane from top to bottom.
