Maffeis provided engineering services for preliminary and final designs of the stadium’s structures (façade and roof) and the membrane cladding.
The Trabzon sport stadium is covered with translucent membrane spanned over steel frames that create a unique, angular form.
At the same time the enclosed form gives fans shelter from sun, rain and high winds from the sea as the ground is built just meters away from the Black Sea coast. It is to become the heart of Akyazi complex, Trabzon’s largest sports, leisure and conference destination built on 795,000 m² of artificially created land.
